EBACC . . . Today
The growth of EBACC has been amazing in the last three decades! The center is a hub of activity for people of all backgrounds and economic levels not only in East Berlin residents, but individuals from York and Adams counties. Fundraising ideas that started in the beginning have blossomed into significant annual events -- The Biggest Yard Sale in Adams County, Summerfest 5k Run & Walk, Christmas Festival, Historic East Berlin Fall Festival -- to name only a few. Events such as these only happen because the sense of community is so strong in this area -- our volunteers are dedicated and indeed loyal. The acres of green space is used for sports -- volleyball, softball, t ball, flag football, soccer -- and many other events.
Another big part of EBACC is our Thrift Shoppe, Seasonal Shoppes, Indoor Clearance Sales, and Book Sales. All of these sales are totally volunteer driven. Most of our volunteer hours fall under these sales. The amount of donations that come through EBACC and back out to the community are amazing. This "recycling" program is one of the best in Adams County. Children and youth are a high priority of EBACC. A long standing basketball clinic, first organized by Warren Frey in 1994 continues to this day, for children ages 5-17 participating and coached by volunteers and parents. Over 100 children enjoy our Summer Day Camps. Kinder Ready Class helps to prepare our littlest ones for transitioning into Kindergarten. The East Berlin Area Community Center has been a beehive of activity from its inception and continues to the present, continually improving and updating the facility and grounds every year.
